Explorer
KSC Visitors Complex, Kennedy Space Center, FL
Downloading Explorer from image files This full size model of a Space Shuttle Orbiter is named Explorer after America's first satellite.  A ramp ascends the gantry structure allowing access to bith the flight deck and the mid deck.  Both are highly detailed, with astronaut Bruce Melnick placing the switches on the flight deck in their landing configuration.  In the payload bay is the pallet used on the maiden flight of Endeavour to rescue the Intelsat 6 satellite.

Built by Guard-Lee.
