This full sized mockup of the Orbiter payload bay includes the vertical stabilzer, OMS pods and partial Flight Deck with Remote Manipulator System controls. Engineers can use this to check on how space components will fit in the Orbiter. The payload bay contains a model of the Hubble Space Telescope in this image. This trainer can be seen as part of the Goddard Space Flight Center waling tour conducted by the Visitor Center. |
