Launch Complex
Mercury-Redstone
LC 5/6
U.S. Air Force Space Museum, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, FL
This historic launch pad features a full scale Mercury Redstone booster. It is adjacent to the USAF Space Museum. It is accessible by the KSC Visitor Complex's 'Cape Canaveral: Then and Now' tour. The blockhouse is 'restored' and part of the tour. The pad is clean (i.e. no gantry) save for two water cannons at the NE and SW quadrants. The launch platform was replaced after hurricane damage in 1999.
