Loading Gemini 2 from Image Files
The first spacecraft ever flown twice, The Gemini 2 began as the last unmanned test of the Gemini program.  It was then refitted with a refurbishable heat shield that had a hatchway cut in the rear to allow military astronauts access to the Manned Orbiting Laboratory immediately behind. The heat shield is scorched in the typical offset pattern.  This spacecraft is displayed so that the heatshield and hatch are easily visible, as are the military markings on the side, the only American spacecraft to fly bearing such an insignia.
