This Mercury-Redstone is a replica built by Space Works. A custom built Gemini Titan II can be seen in the background. Both were erected by placeing the booster 'skin' around a reenforced freestanding pylon to eliminate the need for guy wires. Although the Mercury capsule is modeled after Freedom 7, the booster is lacking some of the markings found on the original.
